Welcome to the Home Stretch Seminar Information Page
2015 Home Stretch Dates:
What is Home Stretch? Home Stretch is a 1-day event that takes place just before the National Board portfolio is due, when candidates are getting ready to focus their attention on final revisions for Component Two and prepare for Component One. Home Stretch consists of two parts:
Component One Preparation: In a small like-cert area group candidates will explore the SRI section, the CRI prompts and released items.
Component Two Feedback: Small groups in like-certificate groups will meet with one NBCT Facilitator to read and provide standards-based feedback on the Written Commentary using a protocol specially designed for use at WEA Home Stretch events.

Information about registration for the spring Home Stretch events can also be found on the
WEA Professional Development Network website.
To run each seminar we require at least 25 registrants. If there are insufficient numbers, we will fully reimburse registrations that have been submitted. Course registration will close if a given event reaches capacity.
You will also need to tell us if your work location qualifies as a Challenging and/or Title I school. If you are unsure of the status of your school, please Click Here to see the current list of Challenging and/or Title I schools in Washington state.
Cost: The projected seminar fee for WEA members is $50.00 for a full day and $30.00 for a half day, and will include registration, training materials, meals/snacks and up to 6 Clock Hours. Candidates can pay securely online by credit or debit card, and there is an additional payment option if your district or association is paying for part or all of your fee. Participants are responsible for their own transportation and any applicable lodging. Non-members are welcome to attend on a space available basis; the cost for non-members is $150.00 for the full day and $100.00 for a half day.
Financial Aid: WEA members who have a financial need may apply for scholarship assistance. If you apply you will be asked to supply the name of your school or work location, and to tell us if it is designated as a 2014-15 Challenging and/or Title I school. To determine if your work location has one or both of these designations please Click Here to see a list of current Challenging and Title I schools. Please note: it is only under very unique circumstances that we will award a scholarship covering the full registration amount; most scholarships are partial grants.
